Research Policies If you're a member of OCHS, or decide to become a member, you are entitled to use the resources at the Genealogy Center FREE of charge. Non-members MUST purchase a membership in order to use the Genealogy Center or to have research done for them.
We do limited in-house research for members as time allows. Osage County was formed in 1841 and we have census records from 1840 through 1910; naturalization records, marriage records, cemetery records, probate tax and land deed records (on microfilm). We also have plat books, maps, county histories, family histories, and keep a vertical file of all requests for family information.
In-depth research for MEMBERS can be done by ordering a form with the guidelines needed for making a formal "Request for Research." Such research is performed at a cost of $10.00 per hour, for a minimum of two hours, or $20.00, payable in advance.
We are here to be of service, and welcome your inquiries.
