  • Gasconade - Jan 1, 1821 - from Franklin (territorial)
  • Osage - Jan 29, 1841 - from Gasconade
  • Maries - Mar 2, 1855 - from parts of Osage and Pulaski
  • On Nov 13, 1857 the lower part of Maries was removed and added to the new Phelps county and
    southeast corner of Maries was added from Crawford county.
